What My Child Did This Past Summer: Do Parents Dread Those Annual Essays As Much As Their Kids?

I know that once school starts, Bregon will find himself inundated with questions and assignments all centered around "What I Did On Summer Vacation."  I always worry that he will be the odd man out and not have anything to write about except for saying that he helped take care of his baby brothers and sister.  Today, he started fencing camp. He hasn't been able to fence practically all year because of a wrist injury he sustained at school early in the year.  He slipped on something in the hallway and fell on his wrist.  The staff all thought that he had broken it because of the noise it made when he fell and the way it hung limp.  In all actuality, he had a bad sprain. From the accident, sprung this very large scary looking cyst on his wrist that would either go down by itself or need to be lanced, according to his pediatrician.  A few weeks later, he fell on it again. Only this time, whatever happened when the loud cracking sound occurred caused the cyst...

Kids BOWL FREE ALL Summer Long! Sign-up NOW For Kids Ages 2-16 in Our Shreveport Bossier City Bowling Alleys

It has surprised me how many people didn't know about the Kids Bowl Free program, so I wanted to share it again. Each summer local bowling alleys around the country offer free bowling for kids.   This is a great way to keep the kiddos active AND keep parents from dealing with the "I'm bored" issues.   Bowling is not only fun but it is a perfect way to get exercise in without even realizing it. Kids ages 2 years old to 15 years old can bowl 2 free games per day.  ALL that you have to pay is for shoe rental and any snacks they may need. There is even a shoe rental pass available for $20 that your child could easily use all summer long!   We have several local bowling alleys in the area. One is  Holiday Lanes in Bossier , and it is ALWAYS fun for a visit!  The facilities are always clean, the snacks at the snack bar are priced great and they're tasty. Hurry ...

That fall chill is in the air which means that it's time for the 2024 Fall Festival at DixieMaze Farms, y'all!  I don't know about you guys, but I cannot WAIT to head out to the farm with the kids for a breath of fresh air. I want to go get lost in their corn field, watch the kids jump in their jumpy-thing, root for my favorite piggy in the piggy races and just enjoy the beautiful fall day!
