That fall chill is in the air which means that it's time for the 2024 Fall Festival at DixieMaze Farms, y'all!  I don't know about you guys, but I cannot WAIT to head out to the farm with the kids for a breath of fresh air. I want to go get lost in their corn field, watch the kids jump in their jumpy-thing, root for my favorite piggy in the piggy races and just enjoy the beautiful fall day! There is SO much to do out there, I could easily spend the entire day AND evening out there.  If you have older kids, you CAN literally do exactly that on Fridays and Saturday nights with their Murder Mystery Dinners for us adults AND their Haunted Attraction features for the older kiddos!  How much fun can one place provide? What Are Little Girls Made Of & Do They All Come Pre-Programmed That Way? Triplet Life In Shreveport, LA

Image
I've always heard that little girls are so much different than having little boys around.  Being a little girl, I always just ignored folks who said this, thinking that it couldn't be all that different.  I am learning, though. Boy, am I learning! Christmas clued us into a few differences that were very surprising.  On Christmas morning, everyone was very excited to see that Santa had left lots of neat and interesting things under the Christmas tree.  Vivienne sat in my lap as she demanded that her big brother, Bregon, place her new ruby slippers on her tiny little girl feet.  Then I handed her the new dollie that had been sleeping in Vivie's new cradle. The dollie said, "Mama" then began to cry.  That's when it happened. Vivienne snatched the dollie out of my hands and gave her a huge hug.  She leaned in close and laid her cheek against her dollie's, saying, "Okay, okay...alright," in an effort to "Comfort" her new baby.  She then plac...

The Toddler Trio Tree Adventures, Continued: Triplet Christmas In Shreveport, LA

Image
The tree has now been up since Thanksgiving night. Ever since then, it has stood in the corner, leaning in its cracked little stand, awaiting the arrival of its shiny new stand.  Friday evening, that new stand arrived. Thankfully, it is the same stand, just a little bit beefier which should make it much more sturdy than its predecessor.  That night, Husband, Bregon and I made THE SWITCH. I assembled the new stand and Husband picked up the tree while Bregon removed the old stand and slid the new one into place.  It was done. The tree now stood straight and tall in its new stand, firmly planted on top of the antique steamer trunk in the far corner of our living room.  All we had to do now, was decorate it. It was really too late to get everything out by the time everything was together on Friday night, so we decided to wait.  The babies didn't realize anything was different, and they treated it the same way they did each and every day.  Kaiden and Kian each g...

The Agador Syndrome: Some Kids CAN'T WEAR SHOES!

Image
Last week, in preparation for our Thanksgiving outing, I had to do a bit of odd shopping.  I had to go on a search for shoes for my baby boys. Since I had been car-less for over a month, I hadn't been able to properly search for shoes for them.  I had received a few pairs as hand-me-downs from a relative, however they were all sandals and each pair a tad bit too small.  At least now, I had some idea of what size to search for, though! I decided that it would be safest to start out at the mall and work my way from one end to the other.  I hit Sears first, at Mall St. Vincent's. I did manage to find baby shoes, however nothing seemed big enough for my baby boy's narrow preemie-feet.  I very bravely ventured out into the mall and decided to take a turn through Pay-less. I was very pleasantly surprised to find 2 pair of tiny baby boy high-tops there.  To make it even better, these shoes had tiny zippers going up in the inside ankle that would make it easier to ...

Thanksgiving Antics: A Reflection of a Shreveport, LA Thanksgiving

Image
So I did it. I hauled my tiny trio over to my father's for Thanksgiving. I plotted and planned for optimum baby happiness and warned the Daddy type person that we may be 1 or 130 getting over there for lunch.  He was actually okay with the idea for once. Even my Granddaddy seemed not to mind the notion.  Morning on Thursday came, and the kids were up at the usual time having waffles and wondering WHY they were made to watch the parade instead of cartoons.  Kai cried at first until the NBC version of the coverage began and the Broadway parts came across the screen.  Then, he became transfixed to the television set and refused to budge off of his rocking horse, ignoring his sibling’s attempts to get their turn!  Naptime  came early for the triplets, and they went down for their nap about 930. This at least gave me time to say, "Happy Birthday, Wake up!" to  Bregon  and start getting dressed.  As we had been Black Friday shopping on Wednesday ni...
