The Toddler Trio Tree Adventures, Continued: Triplet Christmas In Shreveport, LA

The tree has now been up since Thanksgiving night. Ever since then, it has stood in the corner, leaning in its cracked little stand, awaiting the arrival of its shiny new stand.  Friday evening, that new stand arrived. Thankfully, it is the same stand, just a little bit beefier which should make it much more sturdy than its predecessor.  That night, Husband, Bregon and I made THE SWITCH. I assembled the new stand and Husband picked up the tree while Bregon removed the old stand and slid the new one into place.  It was done. The tree now stood straight and tall in its new stand, firmly planted on top of the antique steamer trunk in the far corner of our living room.  All we had to do now, was decorate it. It was really too late to get everything out by the time everything was together on Friday night, so we decided to wait.  The babies didn't realize anything was different, and they treated it the same way they did each and every day.  Kaiden and Kian each g...

The Toddler Trio Tree Adventures: Triplet Christmas In Shreveport, LA

We put the tree out last night. It's not decorated just yet, but it does have its lights on (they are attached.)  I had quite forgotten how much Kai adores that tree. He hasn't even seen it lit up yet, and already he was over giving it a hug.  He spread his little arms out as wide as he could and walked right up to it and gently laid them on the branches and "hugged" his tree.  He even scrunched his little hands up and made biscuits like he does when he gives you extra love in his little hugs (kind of like a cat does its claws when its happy.)  It was soo cute. So, I wonder what happens once I put ornaments on the tree? I am thinking that I shall have to put the octagon play-yard around it to keep the kids from undecorating it or breaking something & hurting themselves.  I would LIKE to put the tree up a little as we have cathedral ceilings in our living room, but I am afraid it will make the lower branches more accessible to the babies and make it easier fo...

That fall chill is in the air which means that it's time for the 2024 Fall Festival at DixieMaze Farms, y'all!  I don't know about you guys, but I cannot WAIT to head out to the farm with the kids for a breath of fresh air. I want to go get lost in their corn field, watch the kids jump in their jumpy-thing, root for my favorite piggy in the piggy races and just enjoy the beautiful fall day! There is SO much to do out there, I could easily spend the entire day AND evening out there.  If you have older kids, you CAN literally do exactly that on Fridays and Saturday nights with their Murder Mystery Dinners for us adults AND their Haunted Attraction features for the older kiddos!  How much fun can one place provide?
